A forced-air system designed to control the temperature of air and to provide for distribution of heat throughout the house. The heat is distributed through separate heat zones, which are controlled by one or more thermostats and served by ducts within each zone as required by the thermostats. A multi-zoned system does not require the entire house to be heated all the time, and allows for different comfort levels throughout the home.
Included in Cost: This cost represents an average of all complete forced air heating systems, based on electric, gas, and oil fired systems and should be used when the exact fuel type for the system is unknown. Average cost for multi-zoned forced air boiler/furnace, fan or blower, ductwork, diffuser, registers, thermostats, mounting hardware, and installation labor.
Enter the percentage, between 0 and 100, of the total floor area of the home serviced by multi-zoned forced air heating.
