Hydronic Heat, Multi-Zoned

Hydronic heating systems use thermal energy produced by a boiler to heat up hot water and a pump to circulate the hot water in plastic pipes installed in a concrete slab or under floor or ceiling framing. The pipes, embedded in the floor or ceiling, carry heated water that conducts warmth to the surface of the floor or ceiling where it distributes energy to the room. The heat is distributed through separate heat zones, which are controlled by one or more thermostats and served by a manifold that distributes the flow of warm water to the individual circuits of tubing within each zone as required by the thermostats. A multi-zoned system does not require the entire house to be heated all the time and allows for different comfort levels throughout the home.

Included in Cost: Multi-zoned radiant floor heating, gas boiler, polyethylene tubing, aluminum transfer plates, baseboard radiators, manifolds and copper piping, controls, thermostats, fasteners, mounting hardware, and installation labor.

Enter the percentage, between 0 and 100, of the total floor area of the home serviced by hydronic heating.
