An air-conditioning unit, mounted in a window or through an exterior wall, that cools using water evaporation. Outdoor air is drawn through a moistened filter pad in a cabinet and the cooled air is then circulated into the room or area being cooled. Typically found in areas with low humidity. Also known as a "swamp cooler."
