Countertop, Tile

The flat or horizontal work surface in a kitchen, typically the top of a base cabinet. The countertop is made of thin, high-quality, flat pieces of fired clay or imported, glazed porcelain tiles with a finish. The tiles are applied with cement or other adhesive and have grouted joints. Normally they are used for their durability, easiness to clean, and relatively waterproof finish. Ceramic tile comes in a wide variety of sizes, shapes, and finishes. The cost represents an average of these styles.

Included in Cost: Ceramic tile countertop, grout, mortar, backsplash, and installation labor.
