A custom or high quality lighting system consisting of a plug-in transformer, low voltage cable and custom or high quality low voltage light fixture or fixtures connected to the low voltage cable to provide lighting. The transformer plugs into a grounded power receptacle and reduces high voltage, such as 110 volts, to a safer 12 volts or low voltage. The cable attaches to the transformer and distributes power to the light fixtures connected along the length of the cable. Examples of low voltage lighting include recessed, track, undercounter and rail lighting.
Note: The percentage of low voltage lighting is based on the percentage of total living area illuminated by the low voltage lighting. Each low voltage light will illuminate approximately 25 square feet of area.
Example: If the low voltage lighting in a home lights 175 square feet of living area and the home is 2500 square feet of total living area, the home has 7% low voltage lighting (175 / 2500 = 0.07 or 7%).
Included in Cost: Low voltage light fixtures, wiring, switches, plate covers, fasteners, and installation labor. Each low voltage light will illuminate approximately 25 square feet of area.
Enter a percentage, between 0 and 100, of the home with low voltage lighting.
