Ceiling consisting of wood lath and horsehair plaster applied over ceiling joists with a decorative texture applied to the surface. The wood beams are exposed and add a decorative look to the ceiling. Horsehair plaster is typically found in homes built before 1930, but seldom in more recently built ones. It is actually regular plaster with a fiber added to it for additional strength. Assumes intricate ceiling configurations typical of high value homes such as skylights, cathedral, coffered, and domed ceilings.
Included in Cost: Plaster, lath, wood beams, primer coat plus two finish coats of paint, fasteners, and installation labor.
