Storm Shelter, Steel, Above Ground, Square Feet

A freestanding (detached) safe room or shelter area that provides a safe area where people can get out of harm’s way of a tornado, thunderstorm, hurricane, or severe weather or storm. The room or shelter provides a safe area until the storm passes. The storm shelter is detached from the home above ground and outside of the home. The storm shelter is designed in accordance to national, Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) and/or State guidelines for residential installation.

Note: A storm shelter can provide security and/or safety from a storm but can be susceptible to flooding, so the storm shelter should not be occupied during an event that could result in storm surge and/or flooding if the area is known to flood.

Included in Cost: A prefabricated or site fabricated welded steel storm shelter, access door and hardware, fastener and anchoring system, ventilation system and installation labor to construct a detached above ground steel storm shelter.
