Cantilever, Wood Joist

A floor/ceiling structure made of wood joist and wood sheathing that is supported on one end and projects or extends beyond its support at the other end. Wood joists are the horizontal lumber supports used to support the floor and ceiling systems. Wood sheathing is the lumber used as the first layer of covering over joists, usually boards, plywood, or oriented strand board (OSB). The cantilever floor beams/joists are supported by a bearing wall.
