A floor/ceiling structure, made of a manufactured open web steel joist (a top and bottom chord with cross bracing) and wood sheathing, that is supported on one end and projects or extends beyond its support at the other end. Wood sheathing is the lumber used as the first layer of covering over joists, usually boards, plywood, or oriented strand board (OSB). Bar joists or open web joists are also known as trusses, truss joists and I-joists. The cantilever floor beams/joists are supported by a bearing wall.
