A framing system capable of supporting heavy loads in which solid wood timbers posts and beams are joined by means of traditional wooden joinery and/or modern fasteners. The narrowest dimension of mill timber framing is 8" to 10". The timbers are generally fully exposed to the inside and are typically used in older construction.
Superstructure framing is typically found in larger high value homes (not smaller homes, such as those under 6,500 SF) and is used for heavy duty loads, older homes, and larger spans. It is possible for a smaller home to have additional superstructure framing, so thorough inspection should be done to accurately account for all framing.
Included in Cost: Mill timber framing (milled posts & beams) and installation labor.
